GEMMA presented the poster titled:
Novel autism risk genes inferred by comparative socio-genomics and molecular network analysis
at the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) Conference, June 1-4, 2024, Berlin.
Comparative socio-genomics combined with advanced bioinformatic methods has enabled the identification of evolutionarily conserved genetic networks involved in social behaviour. Cell-cell communication, adherents junction interaction, and cell-cell junction organization are among the most enriched pathways. This approach has led to the inference of new autism risk genes which, if validated, could represent new biomarkers of the condition shedding light on its complex aetiology.
