After seven years of activity, the GEMMA Project (Genome, Environment, Microbiome & Metabolome in Autism) has reached its final phase. The EBRIS Foundation, as the project’s lead entity, is pleased to announce the GEMMA Final Conference: Results, Impact and Future Perspectives, which will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Salone dei Marmi, Palazzo di Città, Salerno.
Coordinated by the EBRIS Foundation and funded under the Horizon 2020 program, GEMMA represents one of the most advanced international studies dedicated to understanding the biological and environmental mechanisms involved in the development of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Through a multi-omic and interdisciplinary approach, the project analyzed the interaction between the gut microbiota, genome, environment, and metabolism, with the aim of identifying new biomarkers and developing personalized medicine strategies for the prevention and treatment of ASD.
